Abigayle and Austin tied the knot with an elegant, fall-inspired wedding at Eden Springs Farmstead in Kentucky.
From the crisp fifty-degree weather to the coffee and hot chocolate truck outside, everything about this day screamed fall! The color palette featured yellow and burgundy, just like the beautiful leaves Kentucky sees in the fall, as well as blush and navy blue. Their invitations were sealed with gold wax, and the florals also gave a nod to fall with some sunflowers and mums.
The two began the day by getting ready with their friends and family.
Abi had her grandmother assist with putting on her veil, and her mother and sister/Maid of Honor helped as well. After that, Abi shared a sweet first look with both her father and stepfather while Austin and his guys celebrated the big day by stepping outside in the sun for a cigar! After that, Abi did a first look with the entire bridal party — a last-minute idea that turned out so cute!!
Abi and Austin’s first look, however, takes the cake for the best moment of the day.
Abi recorded herself singing a song that was special to their relationship and played it as she walked up behind him. When Austin turned around, you could tell he fell in love all over again. The two of them opted to share their personal vows in private instead of during the ceremony. They were both in tears at the thoughtful words they wrote to one another.
Now, it’s time for a little story.
Abi was incredibly close to her grandfather growing up, but he unfortunately passed on long before this day. Growing up, Abi referred to her great grandpa as “Papa with cows,” because he owned a farm full of them. At Abi and Austin’s engagement session last year (which we did on a farm), a curious cow came up right behind them. It felt like Abi’s papa with cows was waving to us from Heaven.
Fast forward to their wedding day.
After they said their vows, Abi noticed that there was a herd of cows walking into the field behind us. Her reaction was absolutely priceless. It could not have been a more perfect moment. I even had to take a minute to compose myself afterwards, knowing the significance of that little hello from above. It was, by far, one of the coolest things I have ever witnessed on a wedding day.
Now, onto the rest of the day!
After their first look, we took portraits of the two of them, as well as all of the bridal party photos before heading over for the ceremony. The cows gave several moo’s of approval throughout the service, which made Abi (and all of us) smile over and over again. They exchanged rings and their first kiss, then walked back down the aisle with the biggest smiles on their faces.
The remainder of the evening went by all too quickly!
Abi and Austin started off the reception by taking advantage of the super cute coffee truck (courtesy of Elevate Coffee Co.)! After that, they shared their first dance, parent dances, and listened to speeches given by the Maid of Honor and Best Man.
We then snuck out to soak in the sunset for golden hour portraits! We even took photos with a family member’s vintage bug, which ended up being some of my favorites from the entire day.
After that, there was nothing left to do but party it up, and relish in the beauty of the day! See for yourself below.
But wait — there’s more! My husband and I will never get over being able to do this job together, and we are so thankful to A&A for trusting us to capture not only photos of their big day, but video as well!
